Split Systems
Usually suitable for single room installations, Split Systems usually comprise an outdoor and indoor unit. The outdoor unit usually contains a variable speed compressor, condenser coil & fan. The Indoor units usually contain the evaporator coil and fan. A wall type or Infrared controller allows on / off, fan speed and temperature control.Indoor units are offered in a variety of styles including: -
- High Wall (Standard) - capacities from 2 to 10 kW
- High Wall (Stylish & Art Cool) - capacities from 2.5 to 6 kW
- Low Wall and Flexi - capacities from 2.5 to 6 kW
- In ceiling one-way & 4-way Cassette units
– capacities from 2.5 to 14 kW - Under ceiling one-way & 4-way Cassette units
– capacities from 3.5 to 12.5 kW - Ducted (concealed) type which comes in a variety of shapes to suite various applications usually supplied with wall or ceiling type grilles.
Multi Split Systems
Usually suitable for smaller multi room installations and usually comprise one outdoor unit connected to up to five indoor units of the above variety. Total capacity, up to 9 kW
VRV Systems (Small)
Usually suitable for medium size installations with one outdoor unit connected to up to six indoor units. Total capacity, up to 18 kW.
VRV Systems (Large)
These are usually larger systems with one or more outdoor unit connected to multiples of indoor units. These systems are usually suitable for larger residences and commercial installations.
Water to Air VRV systems
Water to Air VRV systems are also available and could be used with geothermal and ground source Heat Pump Systems.
Air to Water Systems
Air to Water Systems are now becoming very popular providing a real alternative to fossil fuel traditional boiler systems with coefficients of performance (COP) in excess of 4 (4 Kw of heat for every kw of electricity consumed).
Chilled Water Systems
These are usually suitable for the much larger installations with air cooled or water cooled chillers delivering chilled water to Air Handling Units (AHUs) and to fan Coil Units (FCUs) throughout the building. Variable air Volume boxes (VAV) are also used for terminal zone control.
